We Made It!

. . . all the way to Moscow. Other than a VERY long and slow line at Heathrow's security check, and it took a quarter-of-a-mile walk and a fifteen minute tram ride just to get to our gate!

Olivia and I had little sleep, but managed to be bright eyed and bushy tailed throughout the trip.
Until we landed in Moscow. Then it hit. We fought to stay awake.

After customs, we met up with our driver, Andrei, and Paul, a guy from Russian Ministries with whom we connected to get some Gospels of John to pass on along the way. To thank him, I brought him a Chicago Bears type cap, which he immediately doned for this photo!

Since  Olivia and I had no protein all day, we decided to stop at MacDonalds on the way to Vladimir (a four hour drive). Of course, we couldn't communicate our special dietary needs, even with a bi-lingual menu. Oh, well. It was an experience! I've been so busy preparing for the trip, that I failed to download a translator app!

The quarter pounder we ordered was just what we needed. . .

Tomorrow we visit Kovrov; Mario's place of birth. Until then. . .

  1. Yay, you made it! Thanks for sharing the ride with us. It's fun to see a McDonalds menu in different languages!

  2. Yay! So glad you made it in one piece. Love seeing the pictures! One of the menus shown has the English word "fresh" spelled out in cyrillic! So funny!
